The ACTIVELINK is the central control cabinet and forms the heart of the system by connecting all components with power and data. For larger systems, additional APWRLINK stations can be integrated to increase the number of connected devices.

An industrial PC (ALINK Gateway) operates in the ACTIVELINK control cabinet, which manages and controls the entire system and also performs the router and firewall functions. It connects the system’s internal, Ethernet-based network, which is usually implemented via combined power and data hybrid cables, with an external Internet connection. The control cabinet is supplied via the mains and is equipped with a 48 V / 10 A power supply unit as standard, which supplies the connected APWRHUB devices with power. An additional power supply unit can be installed as an option to increase the number of APWRHUB devices that can be connected. The control cabinet also communicates with APWRLINK stations as part of an extended network topology. For larger systems, additional APWRLINK stations can be integrated to increase the number of connected devices.
The APWRLINK control cabinet is a variant of the ACTIVELINK control cabinet that is used for larger systems when the performance of the ACTIVELINK is not sufficient. It was developed for installations where greater flexibility and extended power distribution options are required. Unlike the ACTIVELINK, the APWRLINK does not have an integrated industrial PC and focuses solely on power supply and connectivity. At least one ACTIVELINK is required in each system.

Power supply variants:

  1. Configuration 1 comprises a single 48 V / 480 Watt power supply unit and can supply up to 8 APWRHUB devices.
  2. Configuration 2 comprises two 48 V / 480 watt power supply units and can supply up to 16 APWRHUB devices (8 devices per power supply unit).

Internet connection types:

A. Connection type A has an RJ45 connector for establishing an external Internet connection.

B. Connection type B is equipped with an RJ45 connection with passive 24 V Power over Ethernet (PoE) and Ethernet overvoltage protection. This is designed for the connection of an external LTE modem (sold separately) for remote connection.

Hybrid connection variants:

Standard version

This version is equipped with a connection for a hybrid cable and enables the connection of a single APWRHUB line.

SW version

This version has an integrated Ethernet switch and is equipped with two hybrid cable connections so that two strands can be connected to one ACTIVELINK device. It supports a total of up to 8 APWRHUB devices or – when using the DPSU option (Double Power Supply Unit) – up to 8 APWRHUB devices per line. In addition, there are two free RJ45 ports that can be used to connect additional APWRLINK devices without a hybrid cable (typically to connect to an APWRLINK device with a switch on another floor).

Hybrid connection variants: ECE version This configuration includes a hybrid cable coupler (-ECE) for efficient cable routing. SW version This version has an integrated Ethernet switch and is equipped with two hybrid cable connections so that two strands can be connected to one APWRLINK device.
