The ACTIVELINK is the central control cabinet and forms the heart of the system by connecting all components with power and data. For larger systems, additional APWRLINK stations can be integrated to increase the number of connected devices.

Inside the ACTIVELINK control cabinet, an industrial PC (ALINK Gateway) operates, managing and controlling the entire system while also providing router and firewall functions. It connects the system’s internal Ethernet-based network — typically implemented using combined power and data hybrid cables — to an external internet connection. The cabinet is powered via the electrical grid and is equipped as standard with a 48 V / 10 A power supply that powers the connected APWRHUB devices. Optionally, an additional power supply can be installed to increase the number of connectable APWRHUB devices. The cabinet also communicates with APWRLINK stations as part of an extended network topology. For larger systems, additional APWRLINK stations can be integrated to increase the number of connected devices.
The APWRLINK control cabinet is a variant of the ACTIVELINK cabinet used in larger systems when the ACTIVELINK’s capacity is insufficient. It was developed for installations requiring higher flexibility and expanded power distribution options. Unlike the ACTIVELINK, the APWRLINK does not include an integrated industrial PC and focuses exclusively on power supply and connectivity. Each system requires at least one ACTIVELINK.

Configuration

The ACTIVELINK cabinet and the APWRLINK control cabinet are available in two size variants and can be equipped with two different power supply configurations, as well as two types of internet connections (ACTIVELINK only) and hybrid connections.

Power supply variants:

1. Configuration 1 includes a single 48 V / 480 W power supply and can power up to 8 APWRHUB devices.
2. Configuration 2 includes two 48 V / 480 W power supplies and can power up to 16 APWRHUB devices (8 devices per power supply).

Internet connection types:

A. Connection type A features an RJ45 connector for establishing an external internet connection.
B. Connection type B is equipped with an RJ45 port with passive 24 V Power over Ethernet (PoE) as well as Ethernet surge protection. It is designed for connecting an external LTE modem (available separately) for remote connectivity.

Hybrid connection variants:

Standard version
This version is equipped with one hybrid cable connection and allows connecting a single APWRHUB string.

SW version
This version includes an integrated Ethernet switch and features two hybrid cable connections, allowing two strings to be connected to one ACTIVELINK device. It supports up to 8 APWRHUB devices in total or — when using the DPSU option (Double Power Supply Unit) — up to 8 APWRHUB devices per string. In addition, there are two free RJ45 ports available to connect additional APWRLINK devices without hybrid cables (typically for linking to an APWRLINK device with switch located on another floor).

Hybrid connection variants:

ECE version
This configuration includes a hybrid cable coupler (-ECE) for efficient cable routing.

SW version
This version includes an integrated Ethernet switch and features two hybrid cable connections, allowing two strings to be connected to one APWRLINK device. It supports up to 8 APWRHUB devices in total or — when using the DPSU option (Double Power Supply Unit) — up to 8 APWRHUB devices per string.
